These Rules & Regulations (“Rules”) are designed and intended to protect the Club Facilities and to promote the health, safety, welfare and enjoyment of members, their families, and guests. All members are required to know the Rules and to cooperate with management and staff in their enforcement to ensure that all members and their guests have an enjoyable Club experience. Members and guests are expected to act in a manner that will not interfere with the enjoyment of the Club by other members or their guests.
Rules and regulations can be updated by Club Management at any time. Members will be prompted to acknowledge revised rules upon their next reservation.
By accepting membership to The Lawndale Club, each member and their guests agree to the documented rules and regulations.
Club Membership is not guaranteed, and it is at the Club Management’s discretion to accept or denied membership to anyone for any reason.
General Rules
- Members, their families, and their guests shall abide by all Rules & Regulations of the Club as they may be amended from time to time.
- The Club’s membership roster is property of the Club. Although not guaranteed, the membership roster will be kept confidential and will only be used for Club marketing and communications. Members are not allowed to use the membership roster for commercial, business, or political purposes. Informing the public of an individual’s membership status is a member’s personal privilege.
- The Club Facilities shall be open on the days and during the hours as may be established by the Club. Areas of the Club may also be closed for scheduled maintenance and repairs.
- We do ask that all pets be kept at home and away from buildings, courts, pool, etc.
- Smoking, vaping, and drugs are prohibited on Club grounds.
- Members and their guests may not abuse any of the Club’s employees, verbally or otherwise. All service employees of the Club are under the supervision of the Manager and no member or guest shall reprimand, discipline, or direct any employee, nor shall a member request an employee to leave the Club Facilities for any reason.
- Members will treat each other, guests, and Club staff in a courteous, respectful manner at all times.
- All complaints, criticisms or suggestions of any kind relating to any of the operations of the Club, or its employees are requested to be in writing. Verbal feedback is acceptable but only in a private manner. Please send concerns to Info@TheLawndaleClub.com
- Use of the Club Facilities may be restricted or reserved from time to time by the Club Management.
- Commercial and political advertisements shall not be posted or circulated in the Club, nor shall solicitations of any kind be made on the Club Facilities or upon the Club’s stationery. Other than as permitted in writing by the Club, no petition shall be originated, solicited, circulated, or posted on Club property.
- Firearms and all other weapons of any kind are not permitted on Club property at any time.
- No fireworks are permitted anywhere on Club property or adjacent areas unless part of a fireworks exhibit organized and conducted by the Club.
- Performance by entertainers will be permitted on the Club Facilities only with the permission of the Club.
- Self-parking is permitted in designated areas on the Club grounds. Parking at the school is prohibited.
- In no event shall the Club discriminate against any individual because of the individual’s race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, handicap, or marital status.
- The personnel of the Club shall have full authority to enforce these Rules. Any infractions will be reported to management.
- The Club will not be responsible lost or stolen personal items.
- No copying of Club logo or emblem. The use of the Club’s logo and/or emblem is at the Club’s discretion and control.
- Violation of any of these Rules or conduct in a manner prejudicial to the best interests of the Club will subject the person in violation to disciplinary action by the Club in accordance with these Rules.
- No person shall be on Club ground outside of documented Club hours. No person shall enter the pool area outside of pool hours and/or if a Club staff member is present. See TheLawndale.com for seasonal Club hours.
- No person shall conduct lessons, host leagues, tournaments, workshops and/or clinics without the permission of the Club.
- The Lawndale Club reserves the right to revoke a Membership at any time.
Loss or Destruction of Property or Instances of Personal Injury:
- Each Member, as a condition of Membership, and each guest, as a condition of use of the Club Facilities, assumes sole responsibility for his or her personal property. The Club shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to any personal property kept, used, or stored on the Club Facilities.
- Each Member of the Club shall be liable for any property damage and/or personal injury at the Club Facilities or at any activity or function operated, organized, arranged, or sponsored by the Club that is caused by the Member or any guest or family member of the Member. The cost of any damage may be charged to the Member.
- Any Member who makes use of any of the Club Facilities or services provided by the Club, or who engages in any competition, game or other activity operated, organized, arranged, or sponsored by the Club, either on or off the Club’s Facilities, shall do so at their own risk. Each member understands that he or she is solely liable for any injury, damage or liability that may occur, and the Member shall release and hold the Club and their partners, members, managers, advisors, directors, officers, employees, representatives and agents harmless from any and all loss, cost or claim resulting therefrom or from any act or omission of any director, officer, employee, representative, manager, or agent of the Club. Each Member agrees to indemnify (including the cost of defense) the Club, and their partners, members, managers, advisors, directors, officers, employees, representatives, and agents hereunder with respect to any such loss, cost, claim, injury, damage, or liability sustained.
Membership categories include:
- Individual – This membership is designated to a single individual.
- $49 per month or $490 annually
- Invite up to 2 guests per month. Guest privileges do not carry over month to month. See Guest Policy for full details.
- Must be at least 13 years of age to hold an individual membership.
- Couple – This membership is designated to two individual residing in the same physical address. Any adult over the age of 23 must show proof that they reside at the same address as the primary member.
- $79 per month or $790 annually
- Invite up to 4 guests per month. Guest privileges do not carry over month to month. See Guest Policy for full details.
- Family – This membership is designated to an immediate family unit residing at the same physical address and listed on the membership at sign up. Children and grandchildren under the age of 23 not residing at the address may be listed on this membership. The maximum number of total members on a Family membership is 6. The maximum number of Adults on a family membership is 2; please email billing@thelawndaleclub.com to discuss exceptions. Any adult over the age of 23 must show proof that they reside at the same address as the primary member. Children under the age of 1 are not required to be on a membership. Children and grandchildren over the age of 23 are treated as guests and will follow the guest policy.
- $99 per month or $990 annually
- Invite up to 6 guests per month. Guest privileges do not carry over month to month. See Guest Policy for full details.
- Nanny – This membership is designated to two individual residing in the same physical address.
- $50 annually – This membership is only designed to support an existing Family Membership for pool access. It allows up to two members to accompany a child(ren) under the age of 13 to the pool, in lieu of the parents who are members in good standing.

Pricing of membership at renewal is subject to increase or decrease at the Club’s discretion. The Club reserves the right to run promotional membership pricing at any time.
Guest Policy
A guest is a person invited to the Club by a member for the purpose of enjoying the pools, courts, social events or enjoying the use of the Club Facilities. Each membership category is awarded guest passes for a fee. Abuse of the guest policy will result in immediate termination of any existing or future guest passes, at the Club’s discretion. Continued abuse of the guest policy will result in termination of membership.
- Guest fees are $7 per person and must be paid prior to attendance through the member account. No cash payments will be accepted.
- Guest information must be provided in the reservation.
- A refund of the guest fee will be made only when the weather or other factors have restricted Club activities requiring cancelation prior to the start of the event/reservation.
- Guests must be accompanied by the reserving member. When the reserving member leaves the Club, that guest must also leave.
- Members and guests may be requested Club Management, staff, or representatives to show identification cards or ID at any time, upon such request.
- Members under the age of 16 are limited to one guest unless there is supervision by a member parent (or adult of at least 18 years of age).
- Guest fees must be paid 4 hours prior to court reservations or prior to entering the pool area.
- Members wishing to have more than their allotted guests pre month must have prior approval from Club Management.
- Children under the age of one do not require a guest fee.
Nanny Policy
- A Nanny Membership exists only to support an already existing Family membership.
- The Nanny Membership allows for up to two members to accompany a child(ren) under the age of 13 to the pool, in lieu of the parents who have joined the Club on a separate Family membership.
- The Nanny Membership may only support one Family/ one Family membership.
- The cost of the Nanny Membership is $50 each membership year.
- The Nanny membership allows access to the pool. It does not allow access to the Club’s pickleball courts or tennis courts.
- The Nanny may enter the pool deck and pool only when accompanying a child or children living in the home of the single family that the Nanny supports.
- The Nanny Membership does not have guest privileges and these members are not allowed to bring guests to the pool. Only the family may bring guests as detailed in the current guest policy.
- A Nanny Membership will not be issued to support any family whose child/children are over the age of 13 years unless special circumstances exist and the membership is approved by Club Management.
- Members under a Nanny Membership must abide by all other Lawndale Club Rules and Regulations.
- The Lawndale Club reserves the right to revoke a Membership at any time.

Billing
- Members’ dues will be billed on a monthly or yearly basis unless otherwise determined by the Club.
- A member is entitled to attend events at the Club so long as his or her membership is in good standing. Cash payments are not permitted.
- If a member fails to pay any Club account within 30 days of when it is first billed, the Club shall have the right to suspend membership privileges in the Club at any time until the delinquent account is paid in full. Continued delinquency for a period of 90 days from the date a Club account is first billed or repeated incidents of delinquency by a member may result in suspension or termination of membership in the Club.
- Complaints or suggestions concerning the management, service or operation of the Club should be in writing, delivered via email at Info@TheLawndaleClub.com. Errors in billing charges should be directed to the attention to Billing@TheLawndaleClub.com.
- Bills can be paid online. Log into your member account at: Log into My Account on Court Reserve. Reoccurring payments can be setup via credit/debit card or ACH. No cash, Venmo, CashApp, etc. will be accepted. For billing questions please contact Billing@TheLawndaleClub.com
Separated or Divorced Members:
In the event of the separation (legal or otherwise) or divorce of a married Member, the Membership shall be held in the name of the person listed as primary to the account. If the separated or divorced spouse holding the membership wishes to release his/her name from the membership and request that the Club issue the membership in the name of his/her separated or divorced spouse, then the spouse holding the membership must submit a written notice to the Club requesting a transfer in membership name to the other spouse. The spouse who no longer holds a membership may either purchase a new membership or visit the facilities as a guest under the terms of the Club’s Guest Policy.
In no cases will the Club become involved in disputes between separated or divorced spouses, or disputes involving the heirs of deceased Members. In the case of such disputes, the Club may (but will not be required to) at any time, in its discretion, suspend all privileges associated with the Membership in question until the Club receives evidence satisfactory to it of the resolution of such disputes. All monthly or yearly dues and charges must continue to be paid and failure to pay all dues and charges may result in resignation from the Club.
Resignation, Termination for Non-Payment or Violation of Club Rules:
Cancelation of membership must be received in writing to Info@TheLawndaleClub.com with a 30-day notice. No Refunds of any paid Membership Fees shall be made to any Member who resigns from the Club for any reason; or whose Membership is terminated for non-payment of dues, fees, or other charges; or who is expelled from the Club for violation of its Rules and Regulations.
Resignation of membership, either by the member or the Club, requires a 2-year waiting period before any member may rejoin the Club.
Status Change of Membership:
The Primary member holder of an account can change the status of their membership from Individual to Couple to Family and vice versa, once within a 2-year period. This requires a 10-day written notice before the next billing cycle. Please send written notice to Billing@TheLawndaleClub.com.
Pausing membership for medical purposes will require written documentation from a medical professional. Memberships can be placed on hold for up to 90-days with no payment. After the 90-days the membership will become active again and billing will resume. Medical holds cannot be applied to two consecutive periods and must be a minimum of 60 days apart. Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability
Because voluntary participation in recreational sports involves physical activity with risk of personal injury or damage to property, it is the policy of The Lawndale Club that all participants voluntarily and knowingly assume all risks associated with physical activity. By obtaining membership you understand that you are voluntarily participating in recreational activities at The Lawndale Club for your own personal benefit. You assume responsibility for all risks involved in activities that have inherent dangers and hazards that no amount of care, caution, instruction, or expertise can eliminate. Risks may include, but are not limited to:
- Minor injuries such as scratches, bruises, strains and sprains,
- Major injuries such as eye injury or loss of sight, joint or back injuries, cardiac events, and concussions.
- Catastrophic injuries including paralysis and even death.
In consideration for being permitted to participate in membership and/or activities at The Lawndale Club, members and their guests agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Lawndale Club owners, staff, members, and volunteers.
Pickleball Policies
These policies are intended to ensure all members have an opportunity to enjoy their membership. These policies are subject to change at any time based on Club Management discretion.
- Court reservations will open 7 days in advance at 8:00 am.
- Members will be allowed 2 hours of reserved court time a day, paid programming does not count towards the 2 hours.
- Reservations Blocks are as follows:
- 8:30 am – 10:30 am10:30 am – 12:30 pm12:30 pm – 5:00 pm5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
- 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
- If any court is not reserved 12 hours prior to the start time, all restrictions will be lifted and members may book an additional 2-hour block.
- For example, you have booked Court #6 from 8:30 am – 10:30 am. No one has booked Court #9 from 5:00pm – 7:00 pm by 5:00 am that same day, you may book the additional 2-hour block. Giving you 4 hours of play time that day.
- Reservation will be held for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes the court is forfeited, and court fees are not refunded.
- During peak hours (8:30 am – 12:30 pm and 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm) reservations require at least 4 people per court to maximize member accessibility.
- The Lawndale Club reserves the right to revoke a Membership at any time.
- Members and their guests must adhere to their reservation time and not enter the court area early or exit late.
- You may have up to 6 people on a court for play rotations. All names must be on the court reservation. We ask that those waiting ensure they are out of the way of play on other courts or wait outside of the court area.
- Programming will be opened to non-members if events are not filled 48 hours prior to the start.
- No food or drinks on courts except for sports drinks and water.
- No member or guest will engage in unsportsmanlike behavior.
- No member or guest will exhibit any behavior that endangers the health or safety of others.
- The use of obscene language or gestures are not permitted.
- Members and guests will treat others fairly and with respect.
- Playing loud music at the courts can be distracting to other Club members. We ask that you moderate the volume of your music. If a Club member asks you to turn off your music, you are required to do so.
- You must provide your own equipment for play. During Pickleball Clinics for new players equipment will be provided during the scheduled clinic.
- Providing demo equipment or selling of any retail items are prohibited unless pre-approved by Club Management.
- During any club organized pickleball event all paddles used must be on the USAP approved list.

Tennis Policies

- The use of obscene language or gestures are not permitted.
- Members and guests will treat others fairly and with respect.

- Providing demo equipment or selling of any retail items are prohibited unless pre-approved by Club Management.
- No person shall conduct lessons, host leagues, tournaments, workshops and/or clinics without the permission of the Club.
- Members are eligible for the Gate City Inter Club Play.
- Some tennis events may be exclusive to members only. Other programming including clinics, workshops, and lessons can be offered to non-members at the Club’s discretion.

Pool Policies
The following policies are for the protection and benefit of all members and guests of the pool facilities and are designed to assure safe and sanitary operation of the pools and facilities. Please be aware that we are required to comply with all local and state health and safety guidelines.
Pool renovations are planned to be complete in Spring of 2024.
- Main pool hours:
- Monday–Thursday- 11:00-8:00pm or dusk
- Friday-Saturday – 11:00 am-8:00 pm or dusk
- Sunday 12:00 pm–7:00 pm.
- The toddler pool will open for use during swim team practices for young children but must be attended by an adult.
- Guests are allowed but must be accompanied by a member. Please see Guest Policy for all rules and regulations.
- Floats are only allowed in the pool on Family Float Nights. See social and pool events calendar for days and times.
- The pool shall be available for swim team practices 7:30–11:00 am Monday–Friday and 8:30–10:30 am Saturdays during swim team season. Parts of the pool shall be available for swim team practice 5:30–7:30 pm Mondays–Thursdays as determined by the swim team coach and committee.
- Lanes of the pool will be made reserved for lap swim Monday-Friday from 10-11am during swim team season. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance on the member portal.
- The pool shall be closed to all children under age 16 for a 10 minute “rest period” every hour.
- Use of the pool may be suspended for special events, swim meets, or when the weather or other situations dictate. Such suspensions will be posted on the events calendar and/or social media channels.
- Inclement Weather Policy: If thunder or lightning are spotted lifeguards will require swimmers to vacate the pool. Swimmers are allowed back into the pool when there has been no thunder or lightning for 30 minutes.
- Members are responsible for ensuring that their children and guests observe all rules and obey all instructions of the lifeguards and other pool attendants. Failure to comply with these rules shall be considered sufficient cause for suspension of privileges.
- To provide a family atmosphere for all, abusive/profane language and excessive public displays of affection will not be allowed.
- The cost of any property damage or expense incurred through violation of the operating rules by a member or members of his/her household will be charged to the member responsible. The Club will not be responsible for loss or damage to personal property.
- The Club Management reserves the right to dismiss, suspend, or prohibit from the facility any member or guest whose presence is believed to be endangering the health, safety, or pleasure of other members or otherwise detrimental to the membership or to club property.
- At no time will there be any use of the pool except when lifeguards are on duty.
- The lifeguards and management are in complete charge and reserve the right to deny use of the pool to anyone at any time.
- We reserve the right to first warn and then discipline children for breaking rules.
- All persons using the pool do so at their own risk. Neither the Club nor its management are responsible for accidents or injuries.
- All children 12 and under must be accompanied by a guardian of 16-year-old or above. Children ages 12 and up who are unable to swim the length of the pool must also be supervised by a guardian of 16 or above.
- All persons should shower before entering the pool.
- Persons with skin eruptions, open sores, adhesive bandages, and the like are not permitted in the pool for sanitary reasons.
- Children should use the bathroom facilities before entering the pool.
- The Lawndale Club reserves the right to revoke a Membership at any time.
- All children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper or plastic pants with snug fitting legs.
- If bodily fluids or bodily waste get into the pool, Guilford County Health Department guidelines require the pool to shut down so staff can treat and filter the pool water before reopening.
- All swimmers must wear swimsuits that are specifically made for swimming or are made of athletic material. jeans, cut-offs, sweatpants, street clothes, etc. are not allowed in the pool as they may clog the filter. Swimwear must be appropriate for Club grounds; no thongs are allowed.
- No food is permitted within 3 feet of the pool.
- NO GLASS OR OTHER BREAKABLES ARE ALLOWED EVER. This is per NC law.
- RUNNING IS NOT PERMITTED except in grassy areas and outside the fenced area.
- No wrestling, dunking, spitting, or pushing others into the pool is permitted.
- Water guns may NOT be used in the pool or on the pool deck.
- All accidents and injuries that occur on Club grounds must be reported immediately to the Pool Manager or head lifeguard on duty.
- Any misconduct or infraction of these rules should be reported to the Pool Manager.
- Member and their guests should not reprimand any employee. Any complaints regarding an employee should be directed to info@TheLawndaleClub.com and/or Swim@TheLawndaleClub.com.
- All persons using the Club are strictly responsible for proper disposal of their debris in the containers provided.
- On busy days we ask that chairs not be reserved for children under the age of 12 to ensure sufficient seating for adult members.
- No skateboards, bicycles, or similar types of vehicles are allowed to be ridden inside the pool area. Please use the bike racks located outside the fenced area.
Swimming
- Diving is only permitted in the deep end of the pool. NO DIVING IS PERMITTED IN THE SHALLOW END.
- Swimmers must not jump or dive in toward or at another swimmer.
- Swimmers may not jeopardize the safety or security of other swimmers. The lifeguards have ultimate authority in determining what constitutes unsafe behavior.
- Swimmers must stay clear of the lifeguard chairs. Distracting the attention of the lifeguard is prohibited. Lifeguards are on duty to enforce rules for everyone’s safety and to respond to emergencies. Please obey their requests.
- No one is allowed to sit or stand on another person’s shoulders, head, or neck while in the pool or pool area.
- Swimmers may not throw another swimmer. (Parents may toss children but may not flip them.)
- Tennis balls, footballs and other hard throwing objects are not allowed. Splash balls, NERF balls, beach balls, and other soft throwing objects will be allowed. Use of these objects will also be at the discretion of the lifeguards on duty.
- Hanging on the rope is not allowed.
Diving Board/Diving Area
- Only one person is allowed on a diving board at a time.
- Only one bounce on the diving board is permitted per jump/dive.
- Running on the diving boards is not permitted.
- Swimmers must leave the diving board “feet first” and may not sit down to go off the board.
- Swimmers may not hang from the diving board.
- Swimmers may not play on the diving blocks or the waterspout.
- Divers must jump straight out from the end of the board…never to the side.
- “Turn around” back flips are not allowed.
- Divers must swim immediately to the ladder and exit the diving area from the nearest ladder.
- The next diver must wait until the previous diver has touched the ladder before he/she can leave the diving board.
- The diving boards will be closed periodically to allow for open swim in the deep end. These times will be at the discretion of the lifeguards.
- No swimming is permitted in the diving area unless the diving boards are closed. This will be left up to the discretion of the lifeguard on duty.
- No flotation devices are allowed to be used from the diving area with the exception specific events, i.e., Float Night
- Children who cannot swim one full width of the pool may not swim in the diving area unless accompanied by an adult.
Flotation Devices
- Floats are not allowed unless specifically stated by the club for special events.
- Flotation devices, including life vests, are not allowed in the diving area except on Float Nights. This includes noodles. Adults may use noodles in the deep end during rest periods.
- Swimming aids (e.g., water wings, life vests) are not permitted in the main pool except by a child who is supervised by an adult.
- Slapping noodles on the surface of the water or the deck and “fighting” with noodles are not permitted.
- Exceptionally large rafts, boats, or other flotation devices may be restricted at the discretion of the lifeguards on duty.
Adult Swim
- Adult swim, or “rest period,” will occur for 10 minutes every hour starting at 10 minutes before the hour (e.g., 1:50-2:00 pm).
- The pool length will be available for lap swim during rest periods.
- Adult swim is for those ages 16 years and older.
- Children may not sit in the splash gutters during rest period. Children may sit on the concrete with their feet in the water. No splashing allowed.
Toddler Pool Rules
- No lifeguard is on duty at the toddler pool.
- ALL children using the toddler pool must be always accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
- No one over 6 years of age is allowed in the toddler pool except for parents/caregivers who are supervising younger children and who are at least 12 years of age and able to swim themselves.
- Any object considered to be unsafe by the lifeguard staff will be prohibited.

Clubhouse Policies and Reservations
- General Reservation:
- Members can reserve the clubhouse for activities in 1-hour increments for availability, potential fees, and scheduling reach out to info@TheLawndaleClub.com
- The clubhouse remains open to the public during reservations, and regular guest fees apply.
- Members are responsible for supervising their guests.
- Private Function Reservation:
- To reserve the clubhouse for private functions (e.g., parties), it’s $100/hour for members and $175/hour for non-members (who is recommended by a member).
- A refundable cleaning deposit of $200 is required for all private function reservations. See rental agreement for full details.
- Private functions are exclusive, and the clubhouse will not be open to the public during this time.
- Members are responsible for supervising their guests during private functions.
- Note: The fee structure mentioned is subject to change and may vary based on club policies.
- Attire and Pool Usage:
- No wet bathing suits are allowed when entering the clubhouse.
- Members and guests should change into dry clothing before using the clubhouse.
- No Smoking Policy:
- Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the clubhouse and on the outside patio area.
- Cleanliness Responsibilities:
- Users of the clubhouse, including members and their guests, must clean up after themselves.
- This includes cleaning common areas, bathrooms, and the outside patio area.
- Cleaning supplies will be provided for your convenience.
- When leaving the clubhouse — turn off all lights, heat/AC and lock the door behind you.
- Guest Fees:
- All guests must pay the applicable guest fee unless a club-sanctioned event specifies otherwise.
